Best Bundt Pan

When I think about holidays and celebrations, I think of the classic bundt cake. But you all know how tricky it can be to get it perfectly shaped.

Whatever you might think, you are not the problem.

It’s probably just a lousy bundt pan. I have struggled with this so much, trying to get it perfect every time, but my bundt pan would always stick.

Then one day, my husband went out to the supermarket and came home with a brand new bundt pan. It turned out to be an amazing one, and it made my life easier and my cake much better!

That is why I have decided to help you out with choosing the best bundt pan. This minor change can do wonders for you and make your bundt cake look and taste fantastic!

If you’re looking for a high-quality bundt pan to satisfy all your needs at an affordable cost, you came to the right place. 🙂

What is a bundt pan?

The basic design of a bundt pan is relatively simple: it’s a round-shaped loaf with a hollow center and decorative pattern all around the body on the inside. Today there are bundt pans of all shapes and sizes – you name it!

However, from the regular, simple design to the most complicated one, all bundt pans have the same quality requirements. When all of those requirements are satisfied, you will be ready to bake the perfect bundt cake ever.

The result should be a perfect bundt cake that is evenly baked, has well-defined curves, and leaves the pan without cracking and sticking—a simple yet beautiful culinary work of art.

So, if you are wondering what the bundt pan is, it is the one that gives you the perfect bundt cake, and I am here to help you find it.

What are you waiting for? Let’s start our search for the finest bundt pans out there! 🙂

How to choose the best bundt pan?

Wherever you go, chances are you will stumble upon some bundt pans and other bakeware.

There is an endless count of bundt pans out there, but there are certain things that prevail in the search for the best one. I am going to name some of the crucial ones:

1. Material

Your bundt pan needs to be made of a high-quality material to prevent denting or damaging of any kind (but especially the inside, where we have a beautiful decorative shape). Of course, there is more to that than it seems.

There are several kinds of bundt pans, and the difference is the material used.

Aluminum and stainless steel pans are considered to work best as they are more durable than the others. Therefore the vast majority of bundt pans are made of these two metals, and I agree with this choice wholeheartedly.

Glass and ceramic pans are equally bad at conducting heat efficiently, so they will bake your cake slowly and can potentially undercook it.

The worst option is probably going to be silicone. I personally stay away from silicone bakeware as silicone pans are quite floppy and hard to handle.

2. Size

The size of a bundt pan might seem irrelevant, but it truly isn’t. They come in all sizes, but the standard for most recipes is a 10 to 12 cup pan. Of course, there are larger and smaller ones, depending on what you are going for.

I love baby bundt pans, and I regularly make them for gift bags. On the other hand, if you want to feed ten people, you should probably use a larger one. However, you should be careful not to buy a wide pan – it will produce a squatter and, therefore, less architecturally stunning cake. You want your pan to be higher, not wider.

3. Color

If you choose an aluminum pan, you will have a more extensive selection when it comes to design and color. I advise you to go for a light-colored pan because anything darker than silver will conduct heat too quickly.

That result is over-browning your cake and possibly burning it from the outside, while the inside is not even fully baked. A good pan will always have a light-colored non-stick coating, as it ensures a more even cook.

4. Non-stick finish

When baking a cake, you want it to release from the pan cleanly. Even if you still use grease or baking spray on your pan before baking, that doesn’t guarantee that your cake won’t stick to the sides.

That is exactly why the non-stick finish is crucial when choosing the perfect bundt pan. You shouldn’t consider buying a bundt pan if it doesn’t have a non-stick finish, especially with all the creases and curves that bundt pans have. This one is an absolute must.

The Most Recommended bundt pans: Detailed Reviews 2021

Wilton Rounded Fluted Tube Cake Pan

The Wilton pan is a popular option, and many people go for it, but is it really worth the hype?

First thing’s first – this bundt pan is made of aluminum, and it’s non-stick. Bingo! This is the critical part, remember? Always, ALWAYS go for the non-stick aluminum pans. Unfortunately, it’s not high-quality aluminum, so it can’t be used in a dishwasher.

On the other hand, the Wilton pan could be a bit smaller, but the dimensions are still acceptable. Another concern I have is the weight – this bundt pan is on the heavyweight size, and as I said, these pans should be on the lightweight side.

The next thing that popped up in my head was the color. I mentioned it previously as being quite significant. This bundt pan is entirely black, and that is a big minus for the company. You surely don’t want a burnt cake.

However, Wilton seems pretty confident with their pan as they provide a 10-year guarantee for it! All in all, this product is affordable and suitable for experimenting, but I wouldn’t expect a stellar performance from it.

Nordic Ware Platinum Collection Anniversary Bundt Pan

Anyone who has any sort of experience with baking must have heard of Nordic Ware. People from all around the world claim that this company is the lead manufacturer of bakeware and kitchen tools.

That is why you’d expect this bundt pan to blow your minds, right?

As far as the material goes, we are off to a good start. It’s a combination of durable cast aluminum and an ecological non-stick coating, which makes it dishwasher safe. Nowadays, this is a huge bonus, and it also ensures quick release and easy cleanup.

The size of this Nordic Ware bundt pan is just right, as the mold holds 10 to 15 cups of batter (just like the vast majority of recipes). This is usually considered the perfect, uniform size for a bundt pan. Unfortunately, it is a bit heavier, so you’re going to need a bit of muscle to maneuver this one!

And now, for the color: the Nordic Ware pan has a gold interior and a heat reflective, silver platinum exterior to ensure uniform browning. It looks like these guys know what they’re doing.

Just like I mentioned previously, many bundt cakes (or whatever else you may want to bake in your bundt pan) end up overbaked/underbaked because of a seemingly irrelevant thing like the color.

9-inch Bundt Cake Pan, Heavy Duty Stainless Carbon Steel

The manufacturer of Utopia bundt pan promises a variety of things, such as high-quality materials and long-lasting usage.

To ensure the longevity of the bundt pan, they used high carbon steel. I am, personally, not too thrilled about their choice, mainly because I’ve heard some bad things about carbon.

It is, therefore, not dishwasher safe, so you would have to do it manually with a sponge and a detergent. However, it has a non-stick finish.

The size of this Utopia bundt pan is excellent for large groups of people, but if you’re looking for something that can fit in your instant pot, you need to look elsewhere – this pan is quite wide.

The material tells us a lot about weight, and this bundt pan is undoubtedly one of the heaviest out there. Of course, if you are prone to dropping things, this might be good for you – there is no way you could ever dent it.

By now, you already know I love to talk about colors, but there is not much to talk about here. The Utopia bundt pan is another basic pan that is entirely black, just like the majority of other pans.

CasaWare Fluted Cake Pan

This CasaWare pan is rated very highly among people who tried several different bundt pans.

This pan has two non-stick coatings, and this makes the cake slide out exceptionally well, with no residue. The material, however, isn’t aluminum – it’s carbon steel covered in a granite ceramic coat for durability and protection. I am not a fan of carbon steel, but I do believe that this combination might give excellent results.

My concern with ceramic is that it’s not as good at conducting heat as aluminum is. That’s why you shouldn’t even wash the pan until it is completely cooled down, which is not that great if you’re always in a hurry.

This bundt pan is extremely lightweight, and many women praise the manufacturer for this. I mentioned this before because I know how hard it can be to hold steaming hot heavyweight bakeware. I need to give credit where credit is due, so nice job, CasaWare! The size is quite pleasing as well.

The CasaWare pan has a light greyish-brown interior, which isn’t that bad, but it’s not amazing either. I do, however, think that this is a much better choice than any black bundt pan.

This product doesn’t have any guarantee, and the manufacturer is quite specific with how to handle this bundt pan. It’s not dishwasher safe, and the material is sensitive, so it would be better to use plastic, silicone, or wooden kitchen utensils.

Chef Made Mini Bundt Pan Set

This is a set of 4 mini bundt pans made by ChefMade, perfect for baby bundt cakes. I adore those, and so do all the kids at birthday parties and celebrations.

This set of 4 mini bundt pans is made of carbon steel. The manufacturer advises against cooking directly on fire or in a microwave, so you need to pay attention to these details.

They advise on cooking in an oven and using gentle kitchen utensils to avoid scratching. This material is fragile, and you would need to take good care of it.

The baby pans have a non-stick coating on both the inside and the outside, but dishwasher use is still not recommended.

These pans are really tiny, and all 4 of these pans can fit in your instant pot (not to mention a regular-sized oven). The size naturally doesn’t give you much space, so be aware that 1 of these pans can hold between 1/2 and 1 cup of batter. The weight is basically as light as it gets, so you don’t need to worry about that.

I absolutely love the color – champagne gold. It’s very light colored but also kind of fancy (and every woman likes fancy things in her kitchen). My concern is that discoloration can occur when using washing agents, but the color is only cosmetic, so it doesn’t affect baking properties.

  • Non-stick coating on both sides
  • Lightweight
  • It fits in all kinds of ovens
  • Light color

And the best bundt pan is…

There is probably an infinite number of bundt pans on the market, and it’s always hard to make a choice, but I have to give the “best bundt pan award” to the Nordic Ware Platinum Collection Bundt Pan.

This is the pan that I’ve been using for several years now, but I also have a lot of pans lying around the kitchen. I used all of them at least once, but the Nordic Ware pan is far better than all the others.

What I love about this bundt pan is that it has stellar reviews for all the essential categories I’ve mentioned. It gives everything you need for an affordable price. It’s a high-quality product that looks good as well.

For these reasons I wholeheartedly recommend buying this bundt pan if you’re looking for a new one for yourself or a fantastic gift for a dear friend. Feel free to contact me if you have any questions.

Happy cooking!

  1. When I went for the Nordic Bundt pan, it says “hand wash”. So sad. Trying to replace my Wilton that was supposed to be dishwasher safe, but it has rusted. Disappointing.
